Valuing the Players
For the value of each player, I am using the median dollar value from the 4 auctions for the player. Using the median rather than the mean eliminates the side effect of some of the extreme cases, like Latroy Hawkins going for $21 because of leftover money at the end of the auction.
In order to distinguish between all the endgame auction picks, I handled all players with median values under 2.5 differently. I used average draft position (with min and max pick removed) from the 20 NFBC drafts together with the average dollar value of each draft slot to value these players.
There are flaws with using the auction values to value the players, but I am going to ignore them in order to keep the player valuation system simple. Below are the dollar being used for each player:
